What Nick meant to tell you is, these pictures were taken on 9/27. We had very thick cloud cover and rain on 9/26. Hence, no luck with the harvest moon. Nick was able to borrow my sister's tripod to take the photos. Thanks for the tip, Mark.
Sorry, we didn't have time for a video. We have a soccer match to go to :) Nick thanks you all for your comments. Mark, we have not yet used a light meter. We are going to try to use a light meter tomorrow evening, because Nick will be attempting to take a picture of the moon. There should be a harvest moon tomorrow night-if anyone is interested. Thank you all again. Your comments put a HUGE smile on his face!

I bought flowers for Nick to experiment with. Everything Nick has photographed thus far has been a matter of opportunity. Neither he or I know how to create a setting. In taking the above, Nick kept casting a shadow on the flowers he was attempting to photograph. We could not figure out how to get close without blocking the light. Can anyone offer suggestions?

Yes, these were taken at a cemetary. This is the first time I took Nick out to take pictures this past June. In weeks prior, he had asked to use the camera and I hestitantly agreed. He took several pictures that I thought were very good, but honestly I thought he was just lucky. Then he wanted to take more pictures. We live in a rather rural area and there is not a whole lot to take pictures of. I decided we should go to the cemetary. I was hoping to find statues of angels. We found a few angels but we found other things we were not expecting. Nick likes the second photo the best because he says it looks like the George Washington monument. For some reason he loves all things George Washington.
Thank you again for visiting Nick's blog. He is having so much fun taking pictures and he loves your comments.
Nick's mom again. I totally forgot about Wordless Wednesday. Needless to say, Nick is not very happy with me. I still have to work on getting some type of player on this blog- sorry for the delay. Jeremy, thank you for the link. T hat was very, very nice of you. I promise we will get our act together next week :)
Hi Everyone! This is Nick's Mom. Nick gets very frustrated with the typing aspect of the blogging, so I am trying to figure out how he can put recorded messages on here. In the meantime, he wanted me to tell everyone thank you for visiting his blog. He really appreciates your comments. Jeremy, thank you for the Nikon/flikr link. I am trying to learn more about photography so I can help him take pictures, and your link was tremendously helpful.
For those who have asked, Nick uses a Nikon D50. Again, thank you all for your comments. Nick loves Wordless Wednesday. He makes me check his blog a 100 times and he reads the comments over and over and over and over...well, you get the picture ;)
